Thinking out loud...

After having been ruined by WAR, and bored of LOTRO, and I've been kinda having fun with FreeRealms and its mass solo instancing, but getting bored of that too now. I really think I prefer a larger scale MMO that complex and huge in scope, but I gotta find something I wanna stick with for awhile.


Lately I've been keeping tabs on Star Wars: The Old Republic, and kinda sorta on Aion. Aion looks neat but at the same time watching all the video players are posting it looks very very similar to WoW but with some more complexities and tweaks added in to shake things up! I'm more interested in SW:TOR since its a Bioware game and everything they've made has never disappointed me in any way.

Anyway, I'm considering; since my 2D MMO is all but dead for a very long time right now due to my lack of interest in trying to create it of late, that I for some unknown reason would like to try my hand at creating a guild again for one of the two MMO mentioned above! I really like Star Wars from the days of old but SWG and the recent new movies have staked my love of the franchise pretty bad, but SW:TOR is doing a good job of pulling it back out. Aion I worry will turn into another gear grinding game whereas SW:TOR which is going to be centered heavily on story appears to be more what I'd be looking forward too long term.

Well, what do you all think...should I try again and transform these forums into a new guild, and of course not take it so seriously or be as demanding as I was before...heh

I dunno really, given that you get bored of games so fast! *pokes* Hahaha. :) It's totally up to you.

Both those games still have a few months before release. Aion was said in an interview not to be out until September **Still translating the game top english**. So I would just dabble in whatever, and then when they come out, if you happen to like either of them enough to play for quite a while, base your decision on it then. I personally know that when Aion comes out, I'll pretty much be playing that ((if not all the time, atleast off and on)) until Blade and Soul comes out. But based on all the freed back I have read about Aion, the reviews, interviews, and all the other articals and releases over the last year. I'm pretty sure I'll be stuck to it like glue ((Unless the new FF comes out; which I doubt)).

Hrm, somehow these HD character creation videos have escaped me, but I've recently watched them and thats just insane the amount of options there are:

Female Asmodian
Male Asmodian

Female Elyos
Male Elyos

I'm definitely more interested in the Asmodian Race cause of the dark skin colors, especially the almost dark black like an Dark Elf which are my favorite race. Anyway, I'm more interested in Aion now, so I'll definitely be playing it, but as for trying to create a guild for it I dunno yet. I've always been more into the mercenary play-style and join whatever happens to be available and if someone wants me. I usually always play a healer anyway so I'm always being pulled in many different directions.

Up to you all, if you'd be interested in helping me create and manage one...or just kinda play/talk together on the same server but pretty much go our own ways! Lemme know what ya think?

Not sure about Aion yet, too many things going on. I'll wait till it comes out and I'll go from there.

Seeing as how I know I'll be playing (Elyos though because I prefer their aesthetics) I think it would be better just to play the game for a while, see how much you end up liking it, and go from there. And then if it seems like making a guild would be something fun to do, we could do it then. I'm sure the place will be teaming with people to play with at release, so there will be plenty of people to recruit if you wanted to make a guild later.

Yeah, I've been thinking it over and over and I'd rather not do this anymore....running a guild was a lot of BS drama I'd rather avoid and focus on having fun. You wouldn't believe all the crap that so many people kept sending me PMs about or pulling me aside in private Vent discussions for stupid stuff.

Like one of the dumbest ones was....so in so was spouting religious crap I don't agree with on another site...uh yeah and well freedom of speech and on another site not affiliated with us or any games for the matter...and you want me to tell them to stop or you'll quit...ok bye bye then....rofl

Yeah, I know the feeling. I dealt with that stuff all the time, back when our Dofus guild was teaming with bitchy teens. The PSU guild was nice though, but our ranks got to the 200+ people mark, so I left. I hate dealing with huge crowds of people. It got so big that I only know maybe 10 people personally. The rest were names I knew, but people I hardly had the chance to meet. Waay to big for my taste, Lol.
