Ether Saga

From the makers of Perfect World, there's a new Closed Beta game out named Ether Saga.

They are giving away Beta Keys I think from various sites (I got mine from onRPG.com). Try it out and see how you like it. I'll be on the West Coast (Ancestral Ruins, Realm 2) server. Right now, I'm trying out the Shaman which is cool so far (melee/healer). My toon name is LuShen.

Yeah but since I can't play LOTRO at work anymore (they blocked a few sites including game sites), this one seems to be the only I can play! At least for the moment. Hehe.

Well that blows...is one of the reasons I hate working for someone else...u gotta abide by dumb rules like not being able to play games at work and stuffs...hehe

May try it again someday, but you'll prolly get kicked from that too eventually...doh

I just descovered this game last night on a random MMO search xD. I'm thinking of playing it too, but I'm weary from the things I have been reading on their official forums. Not to meantion the class descriptions I read in conjunction with their move sets. I want to play a Shaman as a support/tank (like it says it's main purpose is) but where the hell are the taunt abilities? Lol, the only one they get is through a birthday skill.

Dragoon apaprently has a Taunt skill that is being fixed for OB, but I've read their survivability is horrible compared to tanks in most MMO's. If I do play, I might end up being a healer (like always *sigh*). Even though it feels cheap because I read they actually oput DPS the main DPS magic class. It seems like the game mechanics are very broken at the moment >_<.

They will do a character wipe on the 16th and the 17th is Open Beta. After that, no wipe. I also went on a healer type called Mystic - you can find me on there as Lae if you ever want to try it (West Coast Server). Hopefully I'll be able to use the same name for OB.

Yeah, Shamans are better I think than Dragoons, cuz they can tank and heal. :) I do hope they kinda fix that among other things. I'm also very concerned on how INT is very important on almost all the classes because magic skills depend on INT.

Yeah, I was excited when I saw the OB started on the 17th. And I agree about the Shaman, the only thing that worries me about making one is that you can't boost their damage in order to draw the hate to tank. The only way to do so is to spread your stats (from what I read) dangerously thin. And I agree on the heavy importance on INT. One reason why I didn't want to go Dragoon was because its a Tank/damage class, but they require a lof of MP to do their job. Which makes it hard to build up your Attack Power/HP/Def if you are haing go talso dump points into INT. More than Likely I will end up going Mystic. That is unless I'm able to find a fine balance to make a Shaman or Dragoon a reliable tank.

Will prolly give this another try come OB! Had a CB account but must have been and older version as it won't let me in atm. 17th is coming fast and my LOTRO account ends on the 24th!

I broke myself today installing new doors in the house...{man those things are a bitch to align properly and make them fit well, and tons of prep work!} 3 more to do tomorrow too, hopefully before LOTRO is back online...then I'll prolly be there for a time before its get overrun!

I'm rather enjoying this game, even though its a crazy grind...and there are more quests than you could ever imagine....never a shortage...its like u have 10-15 quest slots and there are always like 40-50+ quests to do{choose from}...every time you return to town. Then of course there are many quests out in the world to find as well.
