This new anime is beyond badass.

While I didnt see the first season, Strike Witches 2 is pretty funny and cute, and a bit ecchi.

Record of Lodoss War was pretty good, both the OVA, and the TV series from a few years later. It was quite serious though, maybe not what you were looking for with happy silly fun fun. Hmm, look for Dragon Half, but be careful, there's another series that's got a similar title-and it's a hentai show. Dragon Half was just silliness, sure there were some ecchi scenes but it was mostly just a funny OVA.
Bastard was great, if you can get that one I highly recommend it, don't be discouraged if it looks like it gets serious every so often: it won't stay that way for long. I mean, how serious could it be, when the main character is named Dark Schneider (orr Darshu, as that's shorter that sayig Da-ru-ku Shu-nai-da~...)?
If you enjoy Record of Lodoss War you may enjoy Rune Soldier it also goes by Magical Soldier Louie. It takes place on a continent north of Lodoss Island. It is a comedy not like Record which has a serious tone.

ive seen far to much anime and read a huge ton of manga. i could listen them all but it'd be huge, im really a big gundam fan, and mecha in general, especially the recent tengen toppa gurren lagann (aim for the heavens gurren lagann) as well as studio bones stuff such as eureka seven and darker then black. Also a fan of fantasy series like Studio Ghibli's work such as princess mononoke, spirited away and howl's moving castle. I dont tend to watch many anime series now, especially when I read the manga first because the japanese have seen to got it in their heads that gutting a plot or art style for cartoony stereotypes is acceptable.

I believe one of my fondest anime I really enjoyed was Kiddy Grade, and I really loved both the opening and ending themes. And here watching that opening video again I saw the receptionist girl where I got my first FFXI character name from "Mercredi" and I swear I was getting tells for years from people afterward, "did ya know your name in French means Wednesday...rofl"
