| So I dont know how many of you like watching Asian dramas and comedies, but I love them. They are 10 times better than most of the stuff here in the States. Currently I am watching a romantic comedy on Crunchyroll.com called Soulmate. Its about these six people and their lives as they search for true love. But it centers on two people mainly and how they randomly come together and fall in love. As Khal knows, I like shows that make me cry... I seem to have a magnetic attraction for such shows. lol And this one delivers in both comedy and romance, after episode 10 it turns into a real tear-jerker, but not the depressing type. Its just really sweet and beautiful. The music is by the same group through the whole thing, they should familiar but I dont know who they are. And while the music is good and they have a great voice, it gets repetitious after while. The acting is awesome, and the comedy will make you lol pretty hard - some of the scenes are over the top though. If you want a good laugh and a good cry and like good romance, then you should check this one out. Its subtitled btw. | |

| Am checking it out...havn't watched any Asian shows for awhile, and most the US shows I've been kinda interested in have gone to crap so I dropped them from my "watch list." I've actually been on a ST:TNG binge, almost done with S3 now...never saw them all back to back...hehe | |

| Awesome! Korean drama is very popular in the Philippines, when I last visited in 2005, they were all the rage, I guess they are still up till now. My sibs always said because Koreans have the same mannerisms as Filipinos, and when the shows were dubbed in Tagalog, I was surprised that they were so similar! :) One particular show I watched when I was back home was Full House and I totally got hooked. The male actor there is Rain, who was in Ninja Assassin, and another famous Korean actress Hye-kyo Song. I even bought the full season of the series, cuz it was so good. :) http://www.crunchyroll.com/library/Full_House | |

| Ah... Well phillipinos are half-japanese half spanish if I remember it correctly... so I guess they would be similar.
Japanese and Korean languages are very similar too. I was listening to the show while reading the subs and I was catching words here and there that were alot like Japanese words. Also they have the same way of speaking, putting -sshi on the end of first names like Japanes would put -chan. Dunno if the Chinese do that or not.
It was all very interesting to learn though.

| I just finished watching the series, and I loved every bit of it... the wrap-up was well done and had a spark of humour in it. The happy ending for the two main characters however, was implied - strongly.
Thats all I will say.
I give it 5 stars. :D | |

It was all very interesting to learn though. I'm chinese ^_^ honestly never had my parents or relatives call my name with an -chan type or -sshi, but I did have a nickname with them all haha ^_^ last time when I played ffxi ~ years and years ago, the Taiwanese I played with ended their sentences with -la ^_^

Interesting you say that, but not all of us are like this, including me. But I think there could be some Chinese blood in our family but very very distant. But yeah, kinda funny how you said that...

| I didnt mean every Phillipino directly, it was something I read. The Japanese founded a colony there or something, and then somehow got mixed in with the Spanish... missionaries probly. Whether its true or not, I dont know exactly. | |

Yes, Japanese were there but only during the World War II where they had tortured and killed a lot of Filipinos and even did the Bataan Death March. :/ Anywho, back to the topic, I'm starting to like this Soulmate drama! I'm so addicted to these shows. :) I also just recently watched Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge drama, which they derived from the manga and anime, Perfect Girl Evolution or most commonly known as Wallflower: http://www.dramacrazy.net/japanese-drama/yamato-nadeshiko-shichi-henge/

| Another really good series is called Couple or Trouble. Its a Korean adaptation of the American movie Overboard (kurt russel I think and goldie hawn). But its far more interesting and alot more funny than Overboard was.
I also rate better than Soulmate. It had me laughing crying and irritated by the ex-girlfriend. The last 3 episodes had me crying so hard... and it wasnt all sad either... emotional rollercoaster.
The ending though was twice as good as Soulmate's was.
And theres a comedy I started watching called Who Are You, that makes me think of the Bill Cosby movie Ghost Dad.
