Nearing 30 hrs now and still on Ch.11, it has gotten incredible harder and much more difficult to kill even the smallest mobs. I have gotten really far in Ch.11, to some huge tower and at the top there is a very powerful Fal'cie I gotta fight but its kicking my ass.
That really huge open exploration zone you find at the start of Ch.11 is it...thats all there is as far as exploration goes, beyond that its just one straight linear tunnel to follow yet again. Anyway, I checked online to find a way to get CP a bit faster since I'm running out of time to finish this game before I gotta send it back, and I found this video:
So I spent like an hr running back to this large field area and have been doing this for awhile, and prolly plan too for several more hrs...it is the fastest and easiest means to earn CP and lvl ur characters that I've found and its required; from my experiences, if you want to survive further on.
Anyway, better get back to it, so I can try and complete this by tomorrow evening...oh and I did find out there are only 13 chapters, and the final two don't appear to be very long, and may not be too hard if I try and max my characters as much as possible before I burn myself out...rofl I've come this far so I really wanna finish it and see the ending cause I doubt I'll ever play this again since its so damn linear...

I'll be restarting tomorrow....finished Dragon age awaking in just over 14 1/2 hours. Not impressed. I had 3 full blown cs glitches including the final one that looped 12 times before I forced through it with square . ( ps3 version) Still, a few good points.
Pro's: new ability trees add some new depth an old npc rejoins your party. ( no spoiler as to who but I was happy)
You can have a pet cat named Mr. pounce a lot. ( this is the only spoiler I will give, it goes to
Anders and wait for his CS in the keep before giving it to him)
Parts of the story are interesting..parts
cons:A lot of it felt thrown together . Quest tend to be either right next to you or really vague
To short, for an expansion that cost $20 less then Origins I expected roughly 20 to 25 hours game play. I took my time and explored top to bottom. Game finished at 14 hours and 47 minutes.
"cameos" these character from your past play no real part in the story and just feel like they where added for filler sake.
Easy to mess up a major side quest chain ( spoiler: only talk to the guard or the bandit leader in the city..not both..this glitches the quest chains)
glitches. I had 3 cs glitches and 2 random fights where the mini map remained grayed out. There where also a few fights that where bugged but I expected that.
As a huge fan of the first I expected great things from this and unfortunately I was disappointing . so 2 out of 5
Tomorrow I return to FFXIII and see how Sahz goes. I may just play FFVII for a week or two. Feeling like a classic right now.

And complete with a running total at the final save after the credits of 36hrs 41min! That was very good, the ending was incredible awesome...I love Square Enix! After all this I can't wait to see what they do with FFXIV, since FFXIII also uses their new Crystal Tools engine. The CG should be excellent and since the voice & emotions, etc were so good in XIII, I expect them to be just as good if not better in FFXIV.
I will say though nearing the end of my deadline and the game, namely Ch.11 I was starting to get severely irritated and burnt out cause of how linear and repeatative pretty much everything was. Had I still owned a 360 I'd of probably bought this and took my time over the course of a month or so and did all the, well basically NM hunting on Gran Pulse...that was neat and there were some really tough monsters that would require some massive skilling up to even survive the first attack..
Anywho, I pushed on cause the story was driving me, and I really wanted to see it all, and not leave a FF incomplete, or unplayed, like I've done with FFXII thus far. The whole stretch of Ch.12 was crazy difficult and Ch.13 was just immensely painful to get through, but doing all that repetative lvling on the King Behemoths really paid off.
Then there was the final boss, which was just insanely difficult to get a pattern going that I could survive, I almost quit cause it just kept killing me, but I was so close I decided to try one last time, and finally I got a pattern working, but many times all three members of my party were in the red and under 100HP when the boss did its signature move. Ever slowly though and about 40-50min later of shaving off a bit of HP here and there, I finally got it...whew!
Good Luck too those who are playing or plan too, and I'll give ya a hint, I had to have 3 of the 6 jobs entirely maxed out to just barely stay alive from Ch.11 through Ch.13. Got tired of grinding CP after that, but it was just barely enough...

I'm stuck on the Fal'Cie fight :/ he keeps one-shotting my party with that move that starts with a D o.O
Edit: (The first Fal'Cie that you fight after Sazh's Eidolon is the one I'm talking about :s)

Uh, I forget, but seriously just go lvl up several times...like fill in about 10-20 more spots or until u can't anymore, and you'll find most bosses super easy to fight, just still takes awhile to down them.

I got it this week but I haven't gotten very far, a friend of mine is trying to get all the PS3 trophies and I guess it's going to take ages before he gets them all, so for all you people that like to get 100% completion, be warned :p I'm just basing this off what he said though, not first hand experience, so I am not to be held responsible for incorrect information!
I'll play it more once I get bored of Star Ocean IV, I don't like to have too much on-the-go, and I'm trying to keep it to 1 offline game so I can find more time to get on FFXI, which I've been neglecting this week :p today was my last full day shift before my week off though, woohoo!

Definitely gonna get this for the 360 soon. Since my friend needs his PS3 back soon I wont be able to do a 100% completion like I want to. ;-;
