Hrm, found another interesting show premiering June 20th! There sure is a massive interest in Vampires and Werewolves of late...too bad it happened after they canceled Moonlight {Aziel knows what I mean, it was so good...they should bring it back with all this lovin they're getting now...} Wonder if they'll make a series based on the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter books someday, now that would rock! Or heck go one step further and get into fairies with the Meredith Gentry series...

Mix Desperate Housewives with Twilight, add a drop of True Blood, and you've got The Gates. In the series, when an ex-Chicago cop becomes the new police chief of an exclusive gated community, he and his family slowly come to learn exactly how exclusive that community is. Apparently humans aren't the only creatures that want to feel safe. This community has vampires, werewolves, witches and other creatures, and they don't always play nice.

I doubt it will last long... which will be sad. But who knows, Ghostwhisperer and Medium have lasted fairly long. AND this isnt Fox... Fox can kiss my ass. lol
If it does get canceled I hope Siffy picks it up, or maybe TNT, USA or one of the others.
I love fantasy/supernatural shows. As long as they arent written by Stephanie Meyer.

Bah, another vampire show, enough already! I hate when a movie like Twilight comes out and takes over the world for a few years, seriously come up with your own ideas people!
EDIT: There's even a new Twilight-themed cake in our bakery o:< lol

Im interested to see if its any good. But vampire/werewolf stuff has been popular far longer than that slop put out by Meyer. But it is obvious they are capitalizing on the popularity of Twilight... theres three vampire shows now! Vampire Diaries, True Blood, and now Gates.
Why couldnt they keep that awesome show Better Off Ted? THAT was good... oh wait, it was on fux.

Yeah Vampires and Werewolves have been around a long time, I really liked the Underworld movies, though I haven't seen the latest yet... What annoys me is when a movie like Twilight comes out, everyone obsesses with the theme, such as vampires, and start putting them in everything hoping to squeeze every last penny out of it before it passes. Have a lame tv show that you want to sell? Slap some vampirez in there, that'll make it popular! What's that? Come up with our own unique ideas? Blasphemy! Off with your head!

I like Vampire Diaries, and True Blood, but this crap that Meyer wrote is ludicrously destroying the image of vampires and werewolves. Sure its popular like Harry Potter garnered but sheesh at least it was awesome and made magic even better!

I actually read and enjoyed Meyers books. The movies are kinda eh. I never really like the whole vampire thing before. Bram Stokers Dracula was pretty good but all the Anne Rice stuff didn't do anything for me.
I read Meyers stuff because my students are reading it and I want to be able to communicate with them effectively about this stuff. As a teacher I will go to just about any length to get kids interested in reading.
My husband read them too and like them. No one is saying you need to like them, but do appreciate that it is getting some kids into reading that might have otherwise never picked up a book. Not since Harry Potter have I seen kids walking around with tomes.

I don't blame the books or even the movies or the fans who can't get enough vampiyahz, I don't even have anything against the current vampire shows that stand on their own merits, I think it's the companies that leech off of the Twilight popularity that should have a stake shoved into their hearts (how's that for irony biotch?! *stabby stabby*)

True... from a bookworm standpoint, at least they are reading; which is infinitely better for children that rotting their brains in front of the tv.

Yeah, I think I'll skip this one. It looks like more drama than anything.

I'll check it out, but I'm not digging the Housewives vibe. I thought Housewives was a horrible show and idea and anything related to it can't be good. Guess we'll have to see.
