| Netheri,
Solid build, though I would suggest dumping the i7-930 and opt for the 950... they're only $300 now...

| Meh... 930.. 950. It's a drop in the ocean compared to the difference between a 5770 and a 5850.
The SSD, I'd consider icing on the cake. The GPU is a much bigger priority.

| True, but I figure if they're going to sell the 950 at $300, the 930's on it's way out, besides it's only $15... | |

| There was also a 35$ discount for getting mobo/930 cpu combo, so really it's a $50 difference. The CPU is not what bottlenecks computers these days. It's the GPU and the HD. The jump from 128 to 256 bit GPUs is pretty big, but I was trying to stay under $1200 and this is the best build I could make. | |

| Actually the CPU will bottleneck a GPU if its not powerful enough to keep up with these newer cards. | |

| When the new video cards come out that may be the case, but for now any i7 is powerful enough for even 5900s unless you buy multiple, and there's always the ability to OC. | |

and it's done! All the cables are ran through the bakc adn zip tied down, except for the mobo power cable. It was too short so it's going over the video card :(. | Very nice. Once you get the cable situation settled it'll be awesome.

| Alright so after a day of messing with bios and drives (no overclocking yet, still using stock cpu fan and cpu cores are idling low 40s) I have all folders mapped to the HDD (E). I even have my user and program files defaulted to the E drive, I just haven't figured out how to move the original program files contents to the E drive without messing up the programs already installed, so I'm going to do a fresh format and move everything before I do any driver installs this time.
Here's my FFXIV benchmarks so far usign 1920x1080: SSD on Marvell 9128 Sata 3.0 (6gb/s) IDE: 4029 (this was with ATI CCC default settings) SSD on Marvell 9128 Sata 3.0 (6gb/s) AHCI: 4355 (ATI CCC maxed except AA app settings) SSD on ICH10R Sata 2.0 (3gb/s) AHCI: untested
I will be buying a new cpu fan/heatsink this weekend, but still debating if I want to OC.

| Just ordered a Corsair H50 water cooling unit. Hopefully I can OC to ~3.6ghz and stay at 40idle and 60 max load. | |
